Filmmaker and Stills Photographer
Katie Toon is an up-and-coming filmmaker originally from West Yorkshire and currently based in Bristol, United Kingdom.
In 2022, Katie left her job to pursue freelance film work full time. During this time, she has built up quite the portfolio to establish herself as a unit stills and behind the scenes photographer, Whilst also working on her own projects in her spare time. she was recently invited to work on two short films for multi award winning director Paul Holbrook and another short film project with Kwame Lestrade for Bristol charity Integrate UK.
Katie graduated Screenology Film School with a first class honours bachelors of Arts degree in creative filmmaking in 2023. During her time at film school Katie spent most of her time working on her first short film 'The Prevention Line', which was selected and given a special mention at the RS Film Festival in Bristol. It was also At this festival where Katie was awarded the title of 'student filmmaker of the year' 2022. Most recently In July 2023 her final major project 'Mabel' was awarded the audience choice award at the lift off global network sessions.

Katie's strengths include her eye for creating great composition within a shot, her problem solving under pressure, her warm and bubbly personality to help keep crew moral high as well as her flexibility to change roles at a moments notice whilst juggling multiple tasks.
